About the Journal

Focus and scope

The Faculty of Humanities of the FASTA University takes on the challenge of publishing an online magazine dedicated to topics related to Christian humanism. Through this objective, we intend, on the one hand, to enrich the thought of the Church mainly around the different topics of current debate; and on the other, to disseminate the thought of St. Thomas Aquinas (patron of our University). In this sense, the magazine promotes the approach of interdisciplinary perspectives so typical of the field of the humanities and so necessary in an interconnected world, which requires the conjunction of multiple knowledge to think about facts, objects, ideas.

Thus, the magazine is born from a fundamental conviction: the need to open a space in which our teachers can dump the fruit of their research and that means, in addition, a motivation for permanent study and updating. However, this space is not only restricted to the faculty of the university, but also opens its doors to all those who want to publish their academic research.

The thematic areas are the humanities in general (Philosophy, Ethics, Theology, History, Art and Culture, Law, Education, Communication, Psychology). The frequency of the magazine is annual, publishing the articles in the month of March.

The reception of items remains open throughout the year. The publication of works in our magazine is free.

Peer review process

Blind peer review

Selection process: The receipt of the works does not imply a commitment to publication. The Director and the Editor will proceed to the selection of works that meet the formal and content criteria of this publication.

The selected articles will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee, made up of teachers and researchers of recognized prestige in their national and international areas of knowledge. The review will be done by peers - the same academic rank - and will be double-blind: the article sent to them will go without a signature and the authors will not know who evaluated their work. The Scientific Committee will have a period of no more than 30 days for its evaluation.

The evaluation criteria will be: the level of language used; the coherence and solvency in the approach of the problem, the development and the conclusions obtained; the theoretical foundation and the bibliography used, leaving other possible observations to the consideration of the evaluator. The result can be: a) publishable; b) non-publishable; c) subject to change; d) outside the editorial line and will be unappealable in all cases.

The authors will be notified by e-mail and the publication of the article will only be possible in cases a) and c). A work "subject to change" will be sent to the author of the article, for consideration of the suggested modifications. The author must respond within five days if he accepts them, establishing in agreement with the Editorial Team the deadline for sending the final version. The new article that incorporates the suggestions or notes indicated by the reviewer of the text will be sent back to arbitration, pending your new report.

Publication process: The manuscripts, once definitively accepted, will be included in the summaries of the successive issues of the journal. Preferably their publication order will correspond to the order in which they were approved, although it may be altered for a better distribution of topics.

In any case, authors who request it will be issued a certificate that their manuscript has been approved and is pending publication.
