Statement of ethics and negligence of the publication
Declaration of ethics, negligence and good scientific and editorial practices
This scientific journal is governed by international standards published by the Committee on Ethics in Publication (COPE). In turn, it is based on the Guide to best practices for publishers of scientific journals and the Resource Package for Ethics in Publishing (PERK), developed by the Elsevier publishing group, in order to ensure transparency in both the publication of contributions and in the associated conflict resolution procedures.
The editorial team of this scientific journal will ensure that all parties (editors, peer evaluators and authors) fully follow the ethical standards throughout the editorial process.
The description of the peer review processes is defined and made known by the editorial team so that the authors know what the evaluation criteria are.
Responsibility of the author:
- Ethical principles of research: The authors are responsible for presenting an original research. Delibetely false or incorrect statements constitute unethical activities and will not be relevant for publication.
- Redundant, numerous or simultaneous publication: In general terms, an author should not try to publish identical materials by basically outlining the research in more than one journal or other type of primary publication.
- Authenticity of the writing: The authors must guarantee that totally original works will be presented. If plagiarism is found, the document will be disapproved and the author will not be able to send new writings for evaluation.
- Authors must make sure that the manuscript is an original work and that it does not contain fragments of the document published by themselves or by other authors.
- Authorship: belongs to those authors who contributed considerably to the training, design, execution, or understanding of the article. All individuals who contributed considerably in the article must be mentioned as co-authors. Other people who contributed to other substantive parts of the research must be recognized or listed as contributors. The main author has the responsibility to include all co-authors and collaborators on the paper and ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the document and consented to its presentation for publication.
- When the authorship of an article is shared, it must be formally declared that: all authors have contributed intellectually in the elaboration of it and everything agrees with the content of the manuscript. The work must not have been previously published in any other printed or digital journal.
- The authors will send the Journal an original of the article without personal information - name, contact details - and excluding its name from the bibliographic references in which it appears.
- All authors must disclose in their manuscript any conflict of financial background or other interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
To avoid improper behavior in the investigation:
Undue experimentation with or in animals and humans
To avoid serious misdeeds of professional ethics:
Plagiarism or suspicion of plagiarism
Simultaneous submissions, duplicate publication
Suspicion of ethical problem of the writing
Ethics in research and publication brochure
Responsibility of the evaluators:
- Confidentiality: the writings sent for review must be considered a confidential document. Respect the confidentiality of the information linked to the editorial process. This manuscript should not be discussed or presented to third parties or individuals.
- Punctuality: Due to the sensitivity to the time of reviewing the articles, reviewers must inform the editor and reject the review of an article in the case they do not have sufficient knowledge about the subject of the article.
- Requirements for objectivity: Criticism must be made in a neutral way and opinions must articulate their criticism on the basis of reasonable arguments.
- Communication with in the editorial evaluation: Evaluators can help editors and offer suggestions to improve the article through editorial communication.
- Recognition of sources: evaluators must take into account the relevant published material that is not cited by the author and if there is any considerable similarity between the published articles and the manuscript under consideration.
- Transparency and interests: private information or ideas collected through peer review must remain private and not be used for the benefit of the reviewer. Reviewers should refrain from reviewing writings that represent a conflict of interest. In case it is necessary to declare conflicts of interest or disabilities.
- Strictly adhere to the policies of the journal's evaluation process.
- Make a methodical and rigorous evaluation, as expected, given the level of expertise of the evaluating pair.

Responsibility of the editor:
- Transparency in publications: Ensure the transparency of contributions and evaluation and publication processes
- Ensure objective dialogue and confidentiality: the editor is responsible and involved in the editorial process.
- Respond with speed and respect to questions and notifications.
- Ensure compliance with international standards of ethics, research and publication in all scientific and editorial processes related to the journal.
- The editor of In Itinere is responsible for the selection of articles that will be published in the journal: The editor must comply with the ethical standards of the journal and with all legal guidelines, including, but not limited to, those that do not allow defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editor has the freedom to discuss decisions related to the selection of articles with the editorial board, the academic committee or an evaluator.
- Non-discrimination clause: the publisher will review the writings and make decisions about the articles.
- Confidentiality agreement: the editor and any member of the editorial team are prohibited from disclosing information about the article sent.
- Transparency and interests: The editing team is prohibited from using published and unpublished material in its own research.
